Not a "Key Date" yet kind of a "Key Error"

That's a very strange coin. The low grade indicates that it circulated for a very long time before it was pulled from circulation. I'm surprised that even a non-collector wouldn't save such an unusual coin from circulation as a neat conversation piece soon after it entered circulation. B)

I was thinking the same exact thing. One cent may have been to valuable to pull from circulation during the depression 20's or 30's?!?

braddick- Can we see the rev?

It's "almost" completely round. I can see where it could remain in circulation without "possibly" being detected. However; I'm wondering even if detected; the population back then didn't know, understand or care about it's significance.

Thanks for posting the rev braddick.

My camera caught the plastic and focused on that thus leaving the reverse kind of blurry. Sorry about that. I didn't catch it until I had the coin back in the safe.
On a side note: I always thought it would have been cool if this was a 1909-S VDB. Talk about a unicorn!

    No. No visible date either.

I would still challenge my 1909-S VDB as being the worse or the worse.

That’s the decapitated Lincoln variety, isn’t it?

I have to disagree. The worst of the worst is not having one at all. At least you have one!

@ COINS MAKE CENTS "It wont CAC"

You should try! Maybe it will qualify as the top 1/3 of a half grade of all P01 coins ever graded...on earth, in all of time (that's what a sticker represents, lol). In fact maybe you can begin a new CAC purchased opinion for damaged coins?

I heard last week they're going to start offering CAC certification of CAC certification where they slice their 1/3 of half a grade into thirds. Sheeple rejoice!

Kidding aside....too bad no sticker as this is exactly where a stupid sticker belongs. Plus....if you were able to purchase a sticker (remember, you can just keep trying as "no" only means "no this time, send us money to try again") there would automatically be a herd of uneducated, ignorant Seheeple that would then give you money for it. ;) Better hurry though, even the ignorant people are beginning to wise up!

Your posts remind me of someone who has had multiple alts banned and threads deleted for bashing CAC.
