It’s a beautiful coin. Some of the marks on the cheek and field look mint made. Is that the case or is the picture tricking me?

Absolutely beautiful coin... and scratch my earlier comment, we definitely were not bidding on the same lot. Thanks for sharing your new purchase.

My guess is high point friction may have held it back.

I agree. The "+" is for eye appeal...

"Grading is subjective" One expert sees a "+", another (JA) doesn't. Not surprising.

My guess is high point friction may have held it back. Which I think is the best reason not to sticker since many have no problem with it as long as the fields are MS.

At some point in time I recall PCGS stating PCGS-graded coins up to MS67 can have wear on them.

This $10 gold piece is an amazing beauty for sure. I hope to own one at some point, but likely in the AU range.

    Congrats on this amazing pickup!!!

My guess is that you’re not remembering correctly.

I know it was from this book, that PCGS sent me (but unfortunately I no longer have):

This is my first attempt at a video. Tried a few things, didn't come out great, but it's still interesting. Shows another dimension to the coin I think.

This is also my first youtube upload... let me know if the link doesn't work. I think I had to select 1080p manually, it defaulted to a lower definition.

I kept the coin in place on my copy stand and moved the lights around above it.
