I am preparing my first go-round and I have a few questions:

1. Can I keep mint coins in their airtites to ensure they don' get damaged during shipping, and the place in a 2x2?

2. Are gold bullion considered moderns (Covered by the $12 moderns (only a silver member)

3. are canadian moderns covered by this tier as well?

1) Yes.

2) Yes.

3) No. They need to go in under World or World Economy.

I disagree. You're trusting some kid making minimum wage to take your coins out of their capsules and put them into flips. I would think you'd be more careful than this person.

........no blanket answer on the first question. the advantage is with coins that have toned in the cello, it helps to assure they won't be bagged for AT if they are intact.

Although I submit my US Mint coins in their original capsules, I agree with your observation regarding who's cracking them out at PCGS. But, I have tried to separate these capsules by hand and couldn't do it without resorting to a tool of sorts. What's the safest way to do it without lowering the coin grade to ACG standards?

Lets throw in kids again. Adult minimum wage workers are just as bad as kid minimum wage workers. Why always use the kid example?

You can use an exacto knife to split the capsule of most modern mint products...Especially from the last 5 years. They aren't airtite, proof sets being a great example. And by the way, a kid making minimum wage is probably better than an adult at minimum wage, who is disappointed over such a crappy job...Let's really not bash kids please as well...That's why coin collecting is on the decline...Too many people are discounted because of their youth...

No wonder there are few 70's out there. Between 1) how the coins are from the mint, 2) your ability to transfer the coin from the airtite to the 2x2 (or someone else doing this) 3) If you do put it in a 2x2 yourself, the correct packing needed to keep coins safe 4) kepping the post office from throwing your package around when you do mail it.

To open these capsules get a really dull knife. I slip the blade into the seam and rock it back and forth. Rotate the capsule while doing this. Then you should be able to pull the sides apart.

You're correct. These people, probably 18-22 years old are adults and not kids. PCGS couldn't get bonding for kids.
