We post pics of coins we like and coins we recently had slabbed or acquired. I thought it would be interesting to see the coins you've cracked out for whatever reason. To start, this is my most recent crackout. An ANACS XF-40 that I think is more like a VF-30. I cracked it out to put into my 19th century type album as my trade dollar representative.

Way to many and very few photos of those coins that have gone into albums. Here is the auction photos of a very recent one cracked for my raw Washington set was PCGS MS65.
My Collection of Old Holders
Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
This one didn't need no sinking slab.

That Stone Mountain obverse is one of the nicest I’ve seen. For whatever reason so many just aren’t eye appealing to me.
Thanks for adding to the thread! I guess people don’t take a lot of pics of coins they crack out...
I've cracked out a lot of coins over the years. Mostly to fill those pesky rarer holes! I just like seeing complete sets "in the albums."
Same here. I’ve cracked out a number of coins for my albums. Although I probably won’t do it with something really really valuable.
Here's another one.
Yes, I see your point. I can't take a chance buying a more expensive (rarer) coin, not knowing if it's legit. I'm not an expert. I wouldn't be able to tell if it's fake or not. So I buy those coins slabbed. I take pictures of the coins in the slabs (obviously, as you can tell) before I break them out. Then I print a copy of the pictures and keep them in the backs of the album, in a clear sleeve.
I’ve mostly been buying ANACS since they are so easy to crack open. Mostly the coins in the $100-300 range. It’s good to know it’s been reasonably authenticated. But I doubt I’ll be buying a bust dollar or flowing hair half to crack out for my album, lol. But I’ve got most of the expensive coins in my Washington set already so just buying raw for the rest.
Same here. The only two coins that "were" slabbed in my Washington set were the 32-D & S. I think they were AU-55's. The rest I bought raw. They all look MS........I think...."HOPE"!
I really like this thread. I hope others post!
When I get a chance, probably this weekend, I’ll do another pic of a recent slab jailbreak, lol.

Here is one that went into my type set...not sure who Dean was or why his name was on the coin
About half of my type set album are from crackouts. This one was PCGS AU53 before being set free...

Some great shots guys!
That's what I'm talkin' bout!
Somewhere between 50 and 100 Morgans and Peace dollars. Also had a LOC Morgan album set that was 1/3 slabbed that I mostly sold when silver was > $30 several years ago.
Sorry for the bird shots, that was this morning.
So you had those albums out in the yard with the birds?
I do bird photography sometimes, too.
I cracked the Barber Half and the Silver Eagle from nice new PCGS error holders for my clipped 7070. I've also cracked maybe a half-dozen Lincolns for my date set, most of those from old ANACS white holders.
I recently picked up a super tough type for the 7070 in an NGC holder, and instead of cracking it out I am trading it to a friend with a raw coin of the same type. I'm lucky to know where the other coin is, as they are the only two clips I've ever seen on this type. My friend is retired and slowly selling off, I convinced him that when the time came he would have an easier time selling the certified coin.

Here's a couple I liberated from ANACS holders fairly recently. They go into my Littleton 19th century album. Most of the pieces are G-F range to both keep costs down but also for a similar look.
Cracked from ANACS Genuine slab.
U.S. Type Set
I have a couple crack outs for a Washington quarter album I am working on. I also cracked this 2 cent coin from an ANACS holder to install in a 7070 album.
Snaps-
That's worth more then just one thumbs up from me!
