I love this one-- from my home state. I have actually mined gold likely from the same area where the gold for this coin was mined. This coin carries personal significance for me....
There's some beautiful coins in this thread that don't qualify as crusty or DOGs as I understand the term. Maybe RYK can show up and enlighten. Anyway, enjoy a lot of these, including ones that don't seem very crusty.

I agree that toned doesn’t always mean crusty, which is why I didn’t post any of mine, lol. I don’t think I have any crusty gold right now unfortunately

Not sure if you would call this crusty, but it's the closest I have. It's part of my ANACS photo cert set. ANACS graded it EF40/40 back in the 80's.

Picked these up today. Traded / bought my common dates 1882 $5 and 1905 $2.5 for some old gold.
This one will be coming in the mail to me this week. It’s nice and quite crusty.
