I have this 5 lb copper cube that I am looking to move. Can anyone give me an idea of what it is worth?

I'll give you $20 for it.

It is an impressive hunk of metal -- probably the side is about 2.5 inches?

It looks like @cohodk is offering spot!

Several years ago, someone posted a picture of Thomas Edison’s cubic foot of copper. I have not seen it, but apparently it is on display at the Edison Museum in New Jersey. It must be quite a sight.

That is the first one I have seen.... Is it a commercial offering from some firm? Cheers, RickO

Purchased from AMEX or Providence. It was a while ago. I do not remember which one. I paid more than $25 so I will keep it. Thanks everyone.

Wild guess: I wouldn’t be surprised if you could get $100 on Ebay.

I think the forum members are being a bit facetious with their $20 and $25 bids.

    Shipping would be problematic.

Does it come in silver? or gold? :o

I'll go $25 and throw in an extra $2 for shipping. 5LBs in the mail can't be cheap. THKS!

I'd offer even more plus s&i in a flat rate box but something like this would sell for even more on ebay

During one demo at a giant mansion years ago the contractor pulled out hundreds and hundreds of pounds of old thick wall copper pipe for scrap. The mansion used a boiler and copper pipe to heat the whole mansion. Seemed like miles of copper. He made a ton$$$ even when copper was $1 a pound. Did I say I like copper?

It'a novelty for sure and not very pure.
A quick search of ebay shows these designs in 5 ounces and 1 pounds being sold but no 5 pound examples.

The Luciteria cube should be a little shy of two and a half pounds.

By the way, they seem to have the centimeter cube of rhodium in stock. Around a third of an ounce for $ 22,000!

I’m gonna probably buy a few cubes from them as I support their educational approach to metals.
And they are located in one of the cooler states in the Union!

I already have enough to keep me busy, but this site is tempting.
