Does Anybody Use This Tape for Registered Mail

I was wondering if anybody uses this tape for registered mail? It is only about $6 for a roll after the discount.

I don't know for sure, but since it's paper tape and can be hand canceled at the seams I don't know why not.
The whole package needs to be covered in this and they will hand stamp it all over in front of you before they take it. I haven't used Ebay tape but just the general string reinforced gum tape (looks similar). I cut it off to length and wet with a sponge and work fast.

I only use the string security tape and go tape monster all over the box and corners like the post office does for their super slow but hand carried and locked up per stop delivery

That looks like fiber reinforced gummed paper tape with ebay printed on it. That will work fine for registered mail. You do not have to cover the entire package with it, you only need to cover all the seams with it. The postal stamp will "seal" the edge of the tape to the surface of the box for tamper security.
I don't think ebay tape will make much difference in the theft realm. Registered mail on it's own says that. I buy a fair amount of non-steal worthy crap on ebay...
The package is already being sent registered mail with thousands of dollars in insurance. If don't see what difference the word eBay would make to a crook.
It will work. You only need to cover all the exposed seams with tape.

I put the industrial Kraft tape on my sensitive packages. Prevents easy tampering.
I just bought a uline manual Kraft tape descender yesterday as I was using it more and can cut tape to length quickly. A few seconds adds up when I’m packing up orders.
Not the Ebay printed tape...I entomb the package of high value items with unprinted "Reinforced Gummed Paper Tape" (search amazon) when using USPS registered mail service. I request USPS randomly stamp the tape seams/corners/sides as to identify entry into or pilfering of the contents of the package by USPS and recipient.
Can you get that kind of tape with "RARE COINS" on it? I'm sure postal employees would handle your package with extra care.

I don’t use the eBay version, but yes, I do use the gummed paper tape. Very secure, esp with with all of the seams stamped by the P.O. employee.

I use that tape, bought it years ago. Doesn't say eBay. Anyway that is the tape the PO made you use for registereds.
You mean by using registered mail? The ebay label means nothing. It could be toner for a printer... except you wouldn't send it registered.

They might think you’re an idiot sending super cheap crap by registered, so they won’t touch it.
Just the fact that it's registered does that! I used self adhesive paper tape myself.
The plain version can be had at Staples for around $10 plus tax. It will last most folks a LOONNGGGG time, esp. if used only for registered mail. If I have a package that needs stronger tape than that cello stuff then I will use it for sealing the top and bottom flaps.
Theft of registered packages is extremely rare. I've been sending them for over 40 years without a single problem. They have to be signed for by everyone who handles them so it's easy to pinpoint a thief.

I'll admit-I've never done that. At any rate it wouldn't make a bit of difference. Registered is handled in a completely different way than any type of "ordinary" mail. If you sign for it and it's missing after that you can expect the Postal Inspectors to come calling.
This. You do not have to cover the whole package, only the seams (anywhere on the package that can be opened and reclosed). The tape, with the clerk's postal stamp added to it makes it obvious if the package has been tampered with. USPS personnel taking subsequent possession of the package each verify the taped seams remain intact. Tape is also required at seams where the box/cardboard envelope was glued together during manufacture. Tape is required to cover the full length of all seams.

My local PO will only accept this kind of gummed backed paper tape. Staples sells it but most of the time they are out of it. PO worker did give me a free roll the last time I said I couldn’t find any. Since they are going to be signing for it they want it to conform to their standards to avoid pilferage.

Got this roll free from the USPS, clerk gave it to me, 3" wide.
Mine doesn't say eBay on it. I'll pay the extra $5 per roll for it not to. As for it saying "steal me," tape that says eBay doesn't exactly confer upon a package any extra value that being Registered Mail doesn't, and there are far more, less risky items for a USPS thief to go after. Registered Mail actually says, "steal something else."

Last time I used my PO's tape it was about half as wide and sans the reinforcement. As long as the ink doesn't smear any brown tape will do. Perhaps PCGS could include a roll in their membership packet or offer it for cost.
I bought two rolls ten years ago and still have one.

Funny thing is that I use the regular eBay packing tape when I need to better cover the seal of a padded mailer or to tape boxes. I actually think it has a positive effect. I would bet that what I send is more valuable than the average eBay package, and rather than make my package look valuable, the tape may in fact make it look more ho-hum. A box or padded mailer will always have some kind of tangible good in it, which may be desired by some thief. If they think it may just be cheap junk, it may become less desirable. I certainly don't think the tape makes it more desirable.
I agree with you completely. The vast majority of eBay purchases are low cost, limited resale items. I'm not sure why the Coin Guys think that "eBay" screams "VALUABLE COINS!" other than the possibility that THEY only use eBay for coins.
