Ever crack a coin only later to resubmit (not looking for a higher grade)?

So one of the first coins I ever owned as a serious collector was a neat-looking "circulated cameo" 1806 bust half. I sent it to PCGS back in the late '80s, where it came back in a VG08 slab. Cool. Fast forward a few years, and I decided to put together a Library of Coins (older albums) typeset of which my 1806 half would make a perfect fit. I cracked it out and did so. Now, years afterward, I abandoned that project and sent 1806 back to PCGS. It again received a VG08 grade.

I cracked it out a few months later when I thought it would fit nicely in a DANSCO typeset, only to discover after having that brain fart that the early bust halves are not a part of the Dansco 7070 typeset. A few months ago, I sent the half back to PCGS (it again graded VG08.

Not a super interesting story, as I spent more in grading fees over the years than the coin is probably worth. Regardless, it'll remain in my collection, and my future heirs can figure out if they want to crack it out and continue to coin collecting game or not.

Please tell me I am not alone, and someone- anyone, had also cracked out coins (either to place in albums or whatnot) and later had them graded again.

I have cracked out many coins to place in my albums. When I go to sell them I will have them re-slabbed. Possibly starting later this year or 2022. I also have many coins that were never slabbed, mainly because I acquired them in pre-slab days.

I've done that... because I like looking at my coins in albums. But still 'need' them back in plastic come time to sell. :|

I have cracked a few that are currently hanging out with their buddies in a Dansco album. If I ever get tired of the Dansco I will send them back for a new isolation cell.

Yup, had a 1916 P Mercury Dime in ANACS MS 65 FB. Cracked it and sent it to PCGS hoping for MS 66 FB as it's that nice with great color. Came back Details, Questionable Color. Pissed me right off. Sent it to NGC where it was graded MS 65FB again.
