The 1st one if you are considering buying. And to me they are not even close. To many things bother me on the 2nd coin.
I prefer collecting coins in lower circulated condition G04 to F12
Dan,
Always tough to say from slab images like these, but I would say the first coin.
My reasons --
(1) Those black spots on the 2nd coin would always bother me. My eyes would be drawn to that every time.
(2) The breast of the eagle on the 1st coin looks pretty much as struck. On the 2nd coin the breast of the eagle looks to have actual wear/rub. The obverse strike of coin #1 looks better (compare the waterlines under the rock).
(3) I think coin #1 might have some nice reverse (cap and rays side) color and maybe some good color on the obverse especially near the rims...but it is hard to read that from the images.

1 for me, as well. The second coin seems to have too many bag marks / hairlines for my taste.
Agree but it is a close call. Now dont you have a 66+? Where is that one?
