Now that is interesting! look at all the tool work above the date you can see that they (Mint) had been doing some kind of rework there. End of the year 1916 just before WW1 they needed workers and had some that did not get much training and were put right to work, maybe didn't have much experience with punching numbers and got messed up would be nice to have more information about the Die Shop in Philadelphia. one 1917 die also has some with date problems as well. and it looked like it also happened again in 1918/7. So much for Job Training!!
