Capsule for 2016 gold mercury dime

Hi all,
Can someone who owns a 2016 gold mercury dime in OGP measure the outside diameter of the capsule for me?
Also, does anyone know where capsules with OGP dimensions can be purchased? So far, I'm not having much luck locating any.
Thx!

The outside diameter measures 24.5mm. You should be able to buy used ones on eBay if you do a quick search.

    Thank you!
I've been searching Ebay for awhile now. Maybe I need some new search terms.

OOGP capsules can be on ebay... but one offs like this will have them hard to find. I'm still looking for an OGP capsule for the palladium issue. none come up for sale. AGE? they're out there. I don't have the gold mercury dime or I'd photo the capsule for you.

And I on the other hand, I believe I probably have too many mercury gold dimes!
I guess I was just trying to show DimeMan who was boss.

US mint coin capsules are unique and cannot be bought new in the aftermarket. Only way to score one is on ebay (make sure it is US Mint OGP). Most all new mint products get submitted for grading in their original capsule and most submitters don't have the capsule returned. Normally the only time they get returned is when a mint sealed box was submitted for First Strike after the fact and the submitter then has the OGP, including capsule, returned. These are the ones you find on ebay. You may have to buy the whole OGP, less coin, to get the capsule.

Aftermarket Airtite type capsules may fit the coin but they do not match the design of the mint capsule.

    Bingo!

Appears Wizard Coin Supply has an inside source at one of the TPGs for genuine mint capsules. The 2016 gold dime has a diameter of 16.5 mm as does the ten ounce American Eagle. Unless there is a great difference in thickness, this $4 capsule should do the trick.

    I'm learning this.
I'm also finding that even the OGP without coin typically doesn't include the capsule.
I guess I'll be on the hunt!

With shipping, they are over $10 each. Yowza.
But I didn't know that the gold mercury would fit in a 1/10 capsule, which is helpful. Do you know if the outside diameter of the 1/10 capsule will fit the gold mercury OGP?

$25 Palladium has the same diameter (32.7 mm) as a 1 oz gold eagle. Unless a big difference in thickness capsules should be interchangeable.

do you have a 1/10 gold eagle proof in OGP capsule that you can trial fit in the mercury box? Only other way to find out is to buy the capsule. Maybe you can save on shipping and buy a few of the more common capsules from Wizard and sell what you don't need on ebay to cover the cost of your Mercury capsule.

Maybe someone here has the gold mercury in OGP and a then oz. gold eagle proof in OGP and would do the fit test for you.

    Derryb,
Thanks much for the capsule! It fits perfectly in the box. The capsule itself is only about 85% closed with the coin inside, but I still think its the correct capsule.
As a side-note, I bought the OGP from my LCS this weekend. They spent time looking for a capsule, but could not find one that fit. After I left the LCS, someone brought in a gold mercury dime in a capsule that fit the OGP. In an effort to contact me, the LCS called the last several numbers in their call log until they found me, and had me swing by to pick it up. Turns out the capsule they gave me is not from the mint, but those guys earned my future business, thats for dang sure.

I'm going with the mint on this one. CF does have its errors. I've reported 2 in the past months
