This coin is very high end for the grade and could easily regrade XF45 due to its excellent details and choice surfaces. The coin has great originality with deep russet color and some reddish flashes at the borders. When tilted under a light, the coin has a pleasing soft orange glow (see photos below). The 1846-O is a scarce and underrated coin, with a PCGS population estimate of 90. Of that limited population, very few choice examples exist. The last PCGS XF 1846-O with CAC approval to sell at auction was a nice XF45 that sold in August for $2,640 via Stacks. The details on this coin are comparably sharp. I've had many successful BST transactions and am happy to provide references on request. Preferred payment method is via check or PayPal FF.
