I wish they would have segments on TV where people have been threw this and talk about it so we can see with our own eyes how it truly is. They do show some reports like this but not much. Blur their faces if it is a privacy issue. People need to see this kinda stuff.

There's this newfangled thing called the Internet, which is way more efficient than TV as a source of information. The testimonials you seek are out there if you put the effort into finding them.

I know I just wanted to talk to people here.

You said: I wish they would have segments on TV where people have been threw [sic] this and talk about it so we can see with our own eyes how it truly is.

That is what I was responding to.

And I’m responding to the repeated use of “threw” in place of “through” by the OP. I hope he’s through with his “threw”(s).😉

Sorry my 1st language is French. Went to school all my life in French here in Quebec.

You’re doing well, then. I’ve seen much worse from some, whose first language is (supposedly) English.😄

It is easy now in 2021 but back in the 1980's English and French hated each other here in Canada. Teachers would mock your name in class. On my street we where the only English household. My dad was French and my mother English. Got into karate at a young age because of all the hate adults thought their kids. It was a survival thing back then things could and did turn ugly very fast. In restaurants at bars it was bad.

Hockey in the 1980's and earlier players literally wanted to harm and even kill each other based on ones language.

Perception can be greater than reality. For those who are effected by the loss of a family member, close friend, or has been infected and had to endure the virus this will be the worst time in their life and they will act accordingly. For those fortunate to be spared the infection dealing with the restrictions can lead to other problems like depression and even suicide. If this continues to drag on much longer we run the risk of a whole generation's education being affected and compromised. Many small business have been lost or damaged due to all the shutdowns, governments are printing money and entering an era of deficit that may not be recoverable as we have defined that in the past. As a world the effects of this virus will be felt for many years to come.

Agreed we will be lucky to get back to normal in my life time and I am just 40. But I hope I am wrong.

KingOfMorganDollar, yes, pretty much, in answer to your OP. Interesting that a Canadian would be a Morgan fan.

I've only lost 2 friends and 8 have recovered. Of course I am on the dark side of 70 so there's that.

I’m in SoCal. The last 5 people we put on ECMO (ie ventilator wasn’t cutting it) in my ICU were 27, 33, 38, 39, and 42 years old - younger than me. We are running 3X normal in terms of docs and numbers are going up and up.

    So it feels pretty real.

And it pisses me off that people don’t take it seriously here.

Sorry did not mean to seam like I do not take it seriously (I believe in science) just different when your area seems OK. I guess like many felt during WW2 when they lived across the ocean.

I totally understand. I think it was a huge mistaketo shut down everything at the beginning. And if you live in an area where the virus is not circulating - good for you!

But people here KNOW that the virus is circulating and are still not protecting themselves, their families, or their neighbors.

I’m in San Diego so we’re aren’t as bad as LA (yet). Would be great to catch up at a Long Beach show though, whenever that is next possible!

I got the Virus in early November right after attending the SCNA show in Greenville, SC. Fortunately, I had a mild case and bounced back within a week. Of course, it didn't hurt that. as my MD says, I'm the healthiest 70-year-old patient she has. Anyway, I don't want to test my luck a second time so until I can get the vaccine (probably this Spring), I'm not going anywhere.

I have to ask now that you had it are you not immune to it? I mean you got rid of it so there was a immune response. And if you are people such as yourself will not need the vaccine. Or am I wrong?

I believe that I read that some people do test positive a second time and it hits them worst than the first. And with new strains there is the possibility.

So how would the vaccine then protect you anymore than your bodies response? I am just trying to understand if someone can tell me. Maybe a doctor here. How is this any different than say HIV where you cannot get HIV twice. It's like if someone had say Hepatitis B what would be the point of the vaccine after they became healthy again?

This has been bugging me for a while now since all the people who had it may or may not need that vaccine. If you can prove you have the antibodies then why get it at all.
