I can't see anything on the second coin that makes me think it is a S/D or S/S variety. The first coin needs those better closeup photos out of the holder, and sharper, so we can make a better judgement.

Interesting. They appear to come from different dies, since the mint mark position relative to the 9 and coat are slightly different.
I don't see any listings for 1974-S RPMs on Wexler's site or CONECA.

I think you can take better pics. I also agree that to focus on coin detail, one must eliminate that plastic layer. Peace Roy
