Anyone have ebays phone number?

Not a coin, but a scammer from Florida got me when they purchased a high dollar swiss watch from me and returned a $5 Timex, just happened and my blood is boiling! Trying to navigate ebays site and talk or report an issue is even more frustrating. I googled the guy and it seems he and his father have quite an online reputation- cars and high dollar luxury items- probably coins to. Name is Ryan Pimenta out of Lutz Florida, ebay username is available on request- look out for this guy and his father Robert if your an ebay seller.

I don’t have that info but sorry to hear that. Lots of sharks out there trying to scam and eBay is setup to have the sellers take the loss.

This is the same number given to me by eBay a couple weeks ago. They ended up calling me so I did not have to use it and listen to their wonderful music. Good luck.

Have you tried going through the ebay help page. You can contact them this way and it directs you to the right team. I don't know your status with ebay, but I just have them call me and it will usually tell me the wait time.

Tried the number at Paypal too, waited 15 minutes on hold- they don't even have music- just paypal promotional talk. Gave up an contacted them via message, Nothing acknowledged but thanks for the help - hadn't thought of them. They already took the money from my account about a week ago- been waiting to get the item back so I could relist and sell again before Christmas.

Go to the "report buyer" page on ebay and report different item returned, if you haven't done it yet. ;)

Go to account. Bottom of page "Help and Contact".

    Go to 'Seller help'.

    Send your phone #.

    They phone you.

Yesterday took 45 mins to call me back. During the call I said if we get disconnected will you call me back? She said yes. She put me on hold, got disconnected. Still waiting for the callback. :#

On my issue I used the chat method and seemed to work well. Then a different person wanted to talk to me and they called me about 5 minutes later.

  • logger7logger7 Posts: 9,029 ✭✭✭✭✭

You have to contact them through their link and they will call you back now. Last I called their direct number they redirected me back to their online help page. Fraud is fraud, there are a lot of ways to skin the cat. Possibly the weight to and from was detected by the usps and they can provide that information to you.

So.....Paypal doesn't wait to hear from/get an OK, they don't want to know from the seller before they refund a buyer that the item sent was returned to some satisfaction? Just unbelievable! What world do they live in? la-la land?

Yes I did that but they responded so far with nothing , they have held the funds from my account for a week now and I fear without even being able to dispute the case they will just refund the money! And I'll never see the watch again.

There were a couple of additional links I clicked but finally got to the page mentioned. Sent my phone # and waited about 3 minutes and got a call back from a heavily accented Asian lady. She sent me a "declaration" form to fill out and return via email. ( I believe on phone she referred to it as an "affidavit", but email form said declaration. They said they will respond in 48 to 72 hours but for now put the refund on hold. Will see how it progresses, what a time of year to have happen. And I just found out my 96 year old dad tested positive for Covid in nursing home- got so much else to worry about. Thanks for all the help guys! And to make it all coin related, just got this one back from our hosts last week:

Looks like guy is a "pro" in online fraud, someone on a watch forum sent me this link to a 2015 post, seems he also goes by Ryan Bitterman https://www.watchuseek.com/threads/attention-all-ryan-bitterman-aka-ryan-pimenta-is-still-scamming.2197113/

  • "He (Ryan Pimenta) just got me for a nearly $700 Aristo dual register wristwatch he bought off me on ebay, I have unconditional return policy and accepted it- he just sent back a $2 Timex in package, new anle on the scam for the scumbag! His user name was luckyfinds2020, address was in Lutz, FL. Someone sent me a link to this old post to confirm this fraudster. Trying to work out with ebay and paypal now else I am out a watch".

He did the same scam to someone else and even sent him a Timex watch back.
I would call the Sarasota police Department to alert them he is still scamming and maybe put the "FEAR OF GOD" into him.

    kevinstang,

You got some great advice here and I would follow up on all avenues to file a claim or complaint. I think it won't hurt to contact the police department in Florida even though the odds might be against you. If this was an interstate transaction, then I would also alert the Feds. The more paper trail, the better.

May your father weather the storm and come out of this in flying colors. Stories like this really get to me because people in nursing homes are dependent on the hygienic practices of others and cannot control any of it themselves.

Isn't mail fraud a federal offense?

Yes it is! Aside from reporting to the Feds, one can send the same report/claim to the USPS. It may sound like a lot of work to contact all these places, but you really are writing one report and gathering the evidence one time and sending the same thing to all potential parties that can help. It looks like the OP did fill out a declarations form with eBay and the money involved was frozen. That is a huge breakthrough. That same information can be sent to other relevant parties. Why not? This can not only help the OP, but others as well. Its time this individual is shut down.

I know it is not always easy to get in touch with eBay Customer Service. Now that an eBay phone number has been determined, if you want to send a message, I got a tip to use the following website:

    https://ocsnext.ebay.com.sg/ocs/cusr?query=1456&ref=1&levelHierarchy=1a1a1

It takes you to an eBay page, scroll down, and look for the "email us" button to click and then you can write your message. I have gotten so much success using that. If I were not successful in getting something resolved, I would call the eBay number.
I think in the OP's case, this was too much of a big case that calling was the right thing.

Sounds like you guys should get together and team up. Try to find as many people as you can that he has scammed. It's possible you could get some leads from his feedback...search as a buyer.

Well to conclude this post, in what must be a generous christmas spirit ebay unfroze my funds and allowed me to keep them, and they returned the money as well to the buyer, they sent an email to confirm this. They said since I was such a good member or something like that- I quickly checked my paypal account and the funds were there! - And I quickly withdrew them too! I guess the guy will get to keep the watch and get his money- crime apparently pays. Big relief for me at this time of year, I lost another $20 paying for return shipping on the junk watch he sent back (anyone want to buy a $2 timex non-working for $20- just kidding ). Think I'll frame it and put on the wall or something. I had contacted his local sheriffs office- Hillsborough County, Fla and was told I needed to start by reporting the fraud to my county sheriff first- what a run around- then they could go look for the guy. Apparently ebay must have wanted to wash their hands of the matter and be done with it quickly. I am sure this guy will make news again somewhere / sometime, sellers beware of this scam, I am sure others will catch on. More important things for me now- praying for my dad and family- he had a rough night and the last 24 hours have been draining- never thought we'd (my brothers and sisters) be discussing my dads DNR over a pandemic illness. Thanks everyone again for the help!
