A little trick I use....go to the APMEX web site, look up $5 half eagles in their inventory, choose any random one, click on specifications (diameter is 21.6mm). Now go on eBay and search 22mm holders.
I do this whenever I buy a raw gold piece. I like to put them in air-tites.

if the insert is spongy foam I'd go down to 21mm
I tried that once. I think it was a Ducat or something. It doesn’t display well that way. The rim and edge get eaten up by the ring. Makes the coin appear out of round. Better to round up IMO.
How close is the G$5 in diameter to the nickel? I know they are both very close in size so perhaps a holder for nickels would work.

What year $5 gold are you looking for? They are different sizes for different years.
He who knows he has enough is rich.
check the diameter.
find a snaplock that is the same size as something more popular... i think a $10 AGE has the a bit larger diameter as a $5 gold but is very close.
I'd message whoever you plan to order from to be sure or ask what they offer for the $5.
Brooklyn Gallery has a pretty big selection of holders,
although I don't know if they have the specific one you are looking for.
