Just got an email congratulating me for being on eBay for 25 years…

Do they also send out emails congratulating people for listing the same item on eBay for 25 years and it not selling because the price is too damn high?

eBay started in September 1995...you must have gotten in on the ground floor. Congratulations.

In Nov 1996 I was perusing ebay's "General Auctions" and there was one for $140,000.00 starting price and titled "Ebay Auction For Auction" being sold out of Oregon by a seller with a French moniker

The auction was for All domains, all hardware and all software for the Ebay site
Pierre O had not been successful by 1996 and was still in infantile years.

I could have bought ebay for $140k ......

That makes cinch the earliest Ebay member that I have ever met.

I had heard about it for a year or two before I joined in June 1998.

I joined in 2000...at that time, I remember that it was a big deal when there were 200 fractional currency listings going on...now 4200!
