Want to buy: Liberty Seated Dollars

I’m trying to hunt down these two coins. If you own one or both and can part with them I’d love to work out a deal. I have bought and sold with many people here on the forum and have plenty of dealer references. I’m a serious buyer!

Unfortunately these two coins don’t have that option available. I would like to add that if I’m lucky enough to acquire them. They will be tucked away deep in my set for at least 30 years. I am not a flipper so they would be going to a good home.

I remember that 1855. I didn't participate because it has the gold CAC and that feature dramatically increases 'normal' pricing.
I now realize passing on it was a mistake.
I hope your efforts are successful. Both dollars are wonderful.

Thanks guys. I know it’s a long shot but it would not be the first gold cac seated dollar I bought off of this forum. So I figured what the heck ...

    Any luck?
Maybe ask a few dealers to put out an APB that specialize in the series.
CoinLT., David Perkins, David Kahn , GFRC, DORC.

CoinLT. and CRO have both came through in the past. All the high integrity, well respected dealers know I’m looking and are on the hunt. I’ll keep the thread updated if I am successful with adding more as they come up.

I will tell you one thing... no one deserves the very best like Crusty as he would give his own shirt off his back to someone in need. A class act for sure!

Good luck in finding one if these gems Crusty! 🤞

With all the above listed and other great dealers, surely one will pop.

I really like that 1855. I also don't think it's "Crusty" enough for your set. If you find it you'll have to send it my direction to preserve the integrity or your crustiness.

All joking aside, you have a big goal. I would be concerned that gold CACed dollars would be upgraded for their added value. If so you'll need to watch the higher graded coins and see if you can spot them. Best of luck on your hunt!

    Hey @Batman23

Thanks for the comments. There is a lot to unpack here but I’ll keep it short. The gold CAC SLDs are very tough to find and who knows how many have been cracked out and upgraded over the years. I for one would never crack an SLD gold cac. As far as the gold cac 1855 $ goes... My core set is almost complete (just missing the 52 and 71cc) and I don’t need an 1855 $ for the core set... I actually own two right now. I’m building a sub set of Gold CAC Seated Dollars on the side. If the gold cac is nicer in hand then my current set piece that’s great if not that’s fine too. The 55 $ is definitely not crusty but I’m pretty sure the eye appeal is all there in hand. I’m hoping to get a box of 10 gold cac SLDs.

I know that collecting gold cac SLDs is not for everyone. But I get a lot of pleasure from owning the 3 I currently have. That’s why I’m always hunting for more.

Tougher date in the series even tougher to find decent... Thanks for sharing. I’m currently trying to hunt down all the Liberty Seated Dollars I can in circulated condition with gold CAC stickers. I’m also putting together two all CAC date and mint mark sets simultaneously. So if you have any seated dollars with a green CAC sticker I may have interest in those as well.
