    Collector of numeral seals.That's the 1928 and 1928A series of FRNs with a number rather than a letter in the district seal. Owner/operator of Bottom Line Currency

    Can't tell by the pic, but is the 1934 $20 a non-mule. Worth a little more. NIce lot of notes love the HAWAII NOTES

    Don't know what a mule is. I love Hawaii notes. My wife is from Hawaii.

    If the back plate number is 318 or higher it is a mule. If it is lower than 318 you have a non-mule making it a little more valueable

    Those notes are beautiful. Do you know the history behind those notes?? . They were created by the US Govt “ just Incase “ the Hawaiian Islands were overrun by the Japanese in WW2. They overprinted Hawaii on the back and printed on front so they could be identified and demonetized by USA. Pretty nice history there.

    That is just for the 1934 $20 Hawaii notes. The 1934a $20 are the opposite. There are mule and non-mule 1934 $5 Hawaii notes. Back plate numbers 938 and lower are non- mules on the $5s. These are more rare than the mules. Like @Mike59 said a great piece of history and a really fun series to collect.

    On the $20 Hawaii Emergency Issue
    1934 ……… back plate 318 or higher = Mule
    1934 ……… back plate 317 or lower = Non Mule. Rarer

    1934 A ……… back plate 317 or lower = Mule. Rarer
    1934 A ………. back plate 318 or higher = Non Mule

    @okiegirl they are not inexpensive by any means , I think only on one bank in Honolulu?
    I have exactly zero of them … too expensive for my budget.
