Strange 5 on a 55 cent, with no displacement of metal

The edge and surface also look unscaved.
Found in a roll.
Any thoughts would be cool.
Thanks.

I think I see a faint curved outline where the rest of the 5 was.

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

I'm also in the post mint damage camp. Part of the 5 is missing...and by missing, I mean it looks like it was there at one time.

    Cool.
    Thanks for your help.
It just looked to clean of a cut.
    Again thank you.

    Rolling machine damage.

Modern damage of this type usually shows as a full or partial ring around the coin. On cents from the 40s and 50s it appears like yours. A letter or number sliced in this manner.

    Just because I'm Learning.
Going through the 55's and found, maybe, something interesting.
    Again just researching.
    Thanks.
