Yes. Quarterly Grading special, moons ago. NGC67. Crossed. Happy.
If we were all the same, the world would be an incredibly boring place.

I'd love to read the circumstance for sending in a single coin.
I do it quite often. there have been crossovers, re-grades, re-holders, reviews and even just one coin getting graded.
This is Funny! Most people here on the forum know I'm the one that's notorious on this subject. Lol. I am yet to send in more than one coin. Just can't seem to be patient enough to group up some quantity. Besides, I receive more free PCGS boxes this way! Lol

Last submission only cost me $58
"Jesus died for you and for me, Thank you,Jesus"!!!
--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line.I once sent a HR Saint in an NGC holder in for crossover to PCGS by itself. It failed.
We send in single coins for clients all the time. Could be that they only have one coin. Or if someone consigns a very valuable coins with a lower value coin, we would submit on separate invoices (for Walk-through/Express/Economy etc.).

I sent a 1916 MPL alone a few years ago. It upgraded from 66BN to 67BN. I was very happy!

I sent in several single coins several years ago, quarterly special was main reason.
Done it many times.

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
A couple years ago I sent in a 1895-O dime in a NGC 53 to cross at s minimum 53. Came back in a 55 holder. A good day. Then added a CAC sticker
I sent this one in:
By itself
Dark hole sun.... Now that’s a chocolate coin in wonderful condition. What did it grade?
"She comes out of the sun in a silk dress,
running like a water color in the rain...."
MS-64 , now cac'd as well
4X for regrade...over a 6 yr period. 1862 NGC MS67 half dollar - probably finest known. CAC'd too. Each regrade cost $100-$125. All failed....despite several former PCGS graders all agreeing the coin was a solid MS67. HRH saw the coin as well and suggested Presidential Review. In each case I wasn't happy doing so because the coin spoke for itself. But to get the extra $5K-$10K out of the coin's value....it needed to be PCGS as well.
Another time I had the finest currently known 1856-0 seated quarter that had just came back NGC MS64. But I paid MS65 money for it raw, 4 years earlier. And it was no less than a 64++. Cracked out and sent off raw to PCGS. Came back as pop 1, first ever graded PCGS MS65. Required and a good result.
When I acquired the finest known 1867-s seated quarter via Auction '86 it was sent in immediately to PCGS for grading....by itself. I was hoping for a MS65 or better. Definitely required back in August 1986. Came back PCGS MS66 (rattler). Today it's PCGS MS67 CAC.
yup a few times. circumstances.
bought right, high $$$ upside. more coins on earth i want to buy and NEVER enough money. - honestly doubt i could satiate the desire with DLH money! - sometimes i just have to see if i pegged a coin correctly on grade as well. pcgs shocked me a few times where i never thought i'd clear the hump where value jumps but they have with several coins. no favors of course; i'm sure the coins were all there for one reason or another. had a 41-s 50c go 65 pc (in a group) and i'm sure my buyer promptly cracked it and most likely got at least a plus.
so as much as patience is a virtue, if one has many goals, time can be of the essence.
oh, and not only sent single coins, i over-nighted some of those puppies but i've also over-nighted to customers as well. there are options, when you CAN have fun, DO so.

BUT in reality, most coins need to be cost averaged, which means preferably 4+ coins per trip.
I never have. I have always tried to send in at least 3 or 4. Right now I have a pile of about 10 (3 different submissions in one package) but hope to find a few more coins to include prior to the big send. Hopefully by late July. No matter the number sent, it is always exciting! I'd be afraid of sending one just in case of disappointment. I want to almost guarantee that I am happy about something in the results.
Not really looking for much these days but if I were, it might be a toner.
The last 2 coins I sent them were both 1918/7 D Buffalo's. Friend gave me one he had then a couple months later another he found.
With attribution the fee was $85. Not cheap.
Yes—walk through submissions.
Hmmmm...Ya afraid of the CAC lovers?
You failed to mention you sent it to CAC in the NGC 53 holder and it was rejected!

this doesnt surprise me in the slightest, seen similar occurrences.
Sent 3 PCGS and 2 NGC, 3 crossed to CAC 2 didn't. Give ya 3 guesses to who crossed and who didn't and the first 2 guesses don't count!
Sent a couple of ‘95-W proof SAEs singly and a few other $10k+ coins I was anxious about.
Yes. Just sent one coin for cross over. 1879 CC ATS XF 45 and I stipulated 'cross at XF 45'. Crossed just fine. I love their 3 Day UPS service and the really neat black PCGS box I got. And if any thief would have stolen that it took 2 grown men to unwrap the taped package 20 minutes! My thanks to PCGS for a job well done.
Congrats on the crossover. You need to invest in a box cutter. Makes opening the outer box a piece of cake. I usually peel the tape off the plastic box by hand.
Of course.
Raw coins, regrades, re-holders, to fix "mechanical errors", and such.
Happy? Sometimes.
Although I've purchased several coins for more than $3K, all but one have been in a PCGS holder. A few years ago I purchased this coin:
And sent it to PCGS alone for crossover at the same grade. It came back like this:
And I was happy.
most of my "One Coin Submissions" have been things I was so excited to have that they go out to TheFactory ASAP.
Did a single coin walkthrough at a PCGS show once, does that count? Saved on shipping and paid a bit more though through the show. MS63, 1888-o scarface I've show numerous times. It was a raw purchase off ebay.

I sent in an ANACS 1980-S MS 66 SBA $1, surprising graded HIGHER MS67! I was happy.
A number of Seated Dimes for variety attribution. They are few and far between, and I didn't have the patience to wait and try to save $30 or so in shipping.
LIBERTY SEATED DIMES WITH MAJOR VARIETIES CIRCULATION STRIKES (1837-1891) digital album
Yep, not to PCGS though. Sent an 1880-CC Reverse of 78 to NGC for crossover.
Cost effective? No. Happy? Yes.
