Coinage Act of 1853 reduced the weight of silver in our coinage below the dollar. This pair saw some good circulation . . . perhaps up through and including the Civil War. Huck Finn's mythical time was nigh . . . and the half dollar was the largest normally circulating coinage at the time.

Just a nice Type piece for an average collector.

WAS PC-15 and cracked it to put in my Dansco. Decided after years to reholder many of the 7070 coins and this one went back in . . . . PC-12. Oh, well . . . . no biggy

Circ cam . . . . got plenty of Wild West use . . . and who knows how many were fooled and thought this was a quarter in its circulation life ????
