I got mine 15 years ago when I found a nice 1971s quarter in a dealer's inventory for $6.
The avatar is a carpy raw digicam pic from back in the day. We didn't have fancy cellphones with great cameras then.
PCGS liked it too - graded it PR69DCAM. Current population is 27 and value is $2850 (was over $6k)

I had a very strong suspicion the OP was an alt, probably @Insider2 . There are fairly trivial ways for an IT department to suss them out.

While he was very knowledgeable on coin grading, life was too short to be around terminally obnoxious, know-it-some of the-time-but-be loud individuals like that. I don't miss him at all. There are far too many other knowledgeable people here that are way better to get along with, even if you disagree with them at times.
I used that one a few times. It gets attention and stands out. I don't think the OP is actually banned. Funny, though.
The OP is actually banned. Simply click on the OP's name and it takes you to his/her account page where PCGS has placed a black banner that clearly states "BANNED".
I miss my man, insider2. A very knowledgeable member of this forum. I hope somehow he can come back. He was my friend.
Yes, he is very much missed by me.

RogerB is ATS. Do the others post anywhere?
I remember when Bruce said he wouldn't post his coins anymore. That's a shame, for everyone, since it's fun to share.

I don't know about martyr. Insider never phrased things particularly politically. But all he was really talking about is the "herd immunity" model. That's basically what Sweden did and the UK flirted with. He took it too far, and politics are verboten in these parts, but that doesn't mean we can't miss his input.

Yes. And to bad it was in a thread that probably should not have been allowed in here anyway.
The thread in question was meant to notify the community about a very prominent member contracting the virus, and to let people express their condolences and well-wishes. To hijack it was in extremely poor taste. In other words, the thread was entirely appropriate right up until @Insider2 rode it completely off the rails.

My "User Anne" sign, lol! Actually, I keep hundreds of images in my download files and use them all the time.
This cameo reminded me of a coin design and not the typical cameo carving.

I don't know. They never let Roger back and Roger wasn't quite the flame-thrower that Insider was.
However I do miss them both. At least we have parking lot finds to educate us in the meantime.

I miss Insider but he crossed the line by a mile with his inappropriate coronavirus posts.

Insider2 definitely had opinions but he didn't put others down.
He was happy to engage in spirited debate. He blew hard but was not a blowhard.
Plus he has tons of information and insight.

edited...... his disregard for human life
The repeated flagrant violation of forum rules, just as for anyone else here.
There is that line that some of us walk right up to and occasionally put our toe across that line or our foot in our mouth.
Insider was full speed ahead, across that line, and press that pedal to the metal.
We adamantly disagreed on many, many subjects, but I do consider him a friend.

Thread belonged in the open forum. This is why they trashed that whole section.
