Wish for PCGS

I very often get coupons for 5 dollars off an oil change or buy one sandwich, get one free. I would love PCGS to offer grading vouchers outside of the renewals occasionally as discounted items. Buy 6 vouchers get 2 free or something. Has PCGS ever done anything like this?

They’ve done some for various registry awards that I know of. The special per quarter for members sometimes works out nicely.

If they did a buy 9, get 1 free offer, would you still love it if they raised their prices by 11% at the same time?

At one time, likely in the mid-to-late 1990s, PCGS offered a discount for folks who submitted coins through ebay. It sounds weird, but I did it more than once and I think the form was an ebay link whereby you would fill it out and then PCGS would discount the services you chose. This was a looooong time ago.

Essentially their quarterly specials is the equivalency of what you are asking about.

Back in the good old days you got grading vouchers for completing registry sets. I still think you get one but it use to be alot more free grades for sets that had more coins. The bigger the set the more free vouchers.

I got alot of vouchers back then,,,,,,

I bet the vast majority of submitters would buy 10 vouchers for the price of 8 if offered. The quarterly specials dont hit every submitter, particularly the last two quarters (for me). But the vouchers do.

Teletrade offered a great deal on grading with PCGS. You would send your raw coins to Teletrade and they would then send to PCGS and once graded and returned to Teletrade they would be offered at auction.

This is something that they have done before. I remember on more than one occasion where they had a quarterly special of send in five coins for the price of four.

Now if you are talking about them doing it frequently, then that is a little different. I don't think that it is something that they will do as it cheapens their service.
