I found this on eBay. It was listed as a "Vintage Printing Letterpress Printers Block National Bank Norfolk Virginia". The first photo is the block itself. The second one is reversed so you can see what it reads.![] It's 1.5" x 1.5" x .75".3/4"

PCGS Currency: HOF 2013, Best Low Ball Set 2009-2014, 2016, 2018. Appreciation Award 2015, Best Showcase 2018, Numerous others.

    Nice, interesting item, Cliff.

What do you think it was used for, a newspaper ad or poster?

Collector and dealer in obsolete currency. Always buying all obsolete bank notes and scrip.

I think it was used as part of a letterhead on bank's stationary.

Yes sir, thats the way we do it.
One thing is bothering me .
It looks like some type of combination in layers .
If its a logo I'm sure it would be a single cast or I think its called a pug. I could be wrong.
I have gathered a few of them. Many of my friends company's have faild and I helped clean out the shops.
So many were thrown away but the collector in me said wait a minute.
Ya, kay sa ra sa ra. 45 yrs of crusty ink filled hands.
    Cool.
