Don’t think so. A copper one should weigh 3.11 grams. Your scale may be a touch off or the planchet may have been a hair light. Seems close enough.
I would say no.

Its very difficult to find something if you don't know what to look for. I would suggest you do some research next time before you waste your time on searching.

Isn't it quite odd or "unusual" that some 1982's weigh 2.5 while others weigh 3.1?
Does the mint have a precise mintage amount number for both weights in the '82 year? Thanks

They changed composition in 1982 from the old copper cents to the copper-plated zinc. There are 7 different varieties. All mintages are known.
You know where you can find the mintages?
Yup, in the RED BOOK!

--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line.I figured you knew all of this and that is why you were weighing cents, to find an off-metal error. If you weren't aware of it, then what on earth were you weighing coins for?
To each is own. But life is too short, or at least mine is, to weigh coins for no particular purpose.
Did you see my opening post? Two different weights! 1982d=3.1 and 1982p=2.5

All I was trying to determine is if the 1982d's are always 3.1 and the 1982p's are always 2.5.
Also, I learned today from our friend, Fred Weinberg, that there are some 83's,89d's and 90d's that weigh 3.1, copper.. We wouldn't learn that from "The Red Book".

The Red Book will tell you what they are supposed to weigh. If you find an anomaly then that is where questions come in.
