For those who missed Heather Boyd’s March 16th post regarding “OT and Rule Violating Posts”

I expect some negative reactions for bringing this up, however, this is what she posted:
“Hello All,
I know that current events have led to a lot of anxiety and people staying in, thus more activity on the forum. However, this does not excuse violations of the rules regarding off-topic and political posts which seem to be running rampant. While we have yet to issue any bans. We will be issuing 3-point warnings which will block violators from posting new discussions for a period of time.
This is a coin forum, and while information is important, this is not the correct medium for updates and discussions about the virus and these posts have been getting out of hand with political debate and even some racist comments. I ask that you all please assist me in keeping the peace.
Thank you, I wish you and your families good health.“

Thank you for Reposting it I missed it!
I suppose this is directed at me since you posted this 2 minutes after I posted my off topic post. Thank you for pointed that out to me, Mark. I guess my mind slipped a bit😐
I read it the first time around.
I read it first time around and I DO fully support it.
A good reminder. Some havea short memory
Joe, don’t give yourself so much credit - it was in response to a number of different threads/posts.😄 However, I admit that yours was the one which put me over the line.😉

This, rules are meant to be broken and with things being what they are a little bending is not the worst thing.

There. Now this OT thread is coin related.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
At least they give you 3 Strikes!
is this thread 'US Coin Forum' related?
That’s up to Heather. But I think the often repeated expression “Rules are made/meant to be broken” is bologna. They are meant to be followed, which is why there are often penalties for not doing so.

Bologna, now I'm hungry.

This forum has the potential to be an amazing platform for sharing numismatic information. While there are significant challenges that we all have to confront individually and collectively, we need to respect the limitations of what is within the collector and numismatic scope of what our hosts contemplated. It is easy to discuss off topic subjects... And most of us have participated in such discussions (I acknowledge that I have). But we need to make a greater effort to live up to our capabilities as collectors/numismatist instead of rehashing subjects that can be addressed elsewhere.
Seems there are many thought provoking images of coins and questions surrounding various areas of numismatic study that should attract far more interest. I am waiting for that to happen as are others.
Take a moment to think of a numismatic question or just share an image of coin that you feel is significant that may inspire others.
Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.

I agree.
When I was racing ... Brake any rule on the race track and it could cost you big time.
Are you a moderator? I've noticed that certain members never get called out. Consistency would be nice.

No.

They don't tend to call people out publicly. The send a warning in a DM.

Yes, but I'm referring to the self appointed forum police.

The forum, like grade school, tends to be cliquey.

So true.
I have no idea, but perhaps the motivation was to prevent people from accidentally disappearing. We are missing a bunch of folks here who provided a tremendous wealth of knowledge. Such a notion would be altruistic. I could use a reminder myself, from time to time......
I know I have wanted to "reply" to some of the post out here. I've had to bite my tongue more than once! My time on this forum is more important than setting some people straight.

I think it fit especially if one of the members is attacking another. Don’t you? Nice Coin by the way. Never liked that brand of cereal but wished I had one of them. Thank you for sharing.
I guess I got lucky, as I missed it as well.

I missed out in school. I hope I get to be in the clique here!
BTW, it seems at least one forum member follows the speed limits in TX.
I don"t have any tongue left! Hopefully the mods will do what needs to be done!

Rest assured.
Honestly, I have no idea what phenomenal transgression that Roger B committed that caused his bannation.
He is a store of knowledge that should be welcomed and asked to return.
He was told repeatedly not to leave the forum toilet seat up.

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
Whoops. I missed this post the first time around. I've had one post deleted and one discussion stopped as each time, the conversation went off rail into politics-which seems to be an easy thing to do lately. I just wish all our forum members well being in these troubled times. Just to be fair, politics play a pretty big part in our coins, as many of them portray presidents. And the new virus is most certainly affecting our economy and how we purchase coins. It's all just a bit distracting.
I commented on two non coin threads...
Trying to do better but I often forget.

And now that we're discussing a coin, let's have a lesson in historical context. Of course, "Mind Your Business" was referring to taking care of your economic business ventures--a perfectly valid reminder to appear on money in a time when the American economy was still in its infancy--and had nothing to do with today's use of the phrase "mind your [own] business/beeswax."
I missed Heather's March 16 post and still cannot find it. Thanks to MFeld for re-posting it for those of us that missed it.
A better forum for politics and character assasination is FaceBook. Perhaps we should form a FaceBook Group where we can also discuss non-coin issues that are of universal concern.
Fugio is Latin for "I fly". The sun dial represents time. The entire message is "Time flies so mind your business." It sounds like advice found in "Poor Richard's Almanac" which was authored and published by Ben Franklin.
