The I in liberty looks like The leanning tower.
Most of all it looks like a clean manuver.
Any thoughts?

Without pics of the whole coin there is no way to look for other signs, but I assume it is rolling machine damage.

There is no way for the letter to get moved like that on the die.

IMO, it is not rolling machine damage.

    Here are the other choices:

    1. A blob of corroded metal or a soft, green corrosion residue that will come off w/acetone.
    2. A lamination based on what looks like a shadow around the raised area.
    3. A chip out of the die.
    4. Damage if the area is squished.

PS There is no need to see any other part of the coin in this case. Wink.

Best guess...get out the nail polish remover.

Looks like mechanical damage to me. Something squished the "L" and moved the "I" to the right. Many signs of substantial contact on the other letters and numbers.
