Great Collections Auction tonight...

bearcavebearcave Posts: 3,996 ✭✭✭✭✭

I was outbid on 38 items tonight! I guess I need to pay more, I was going by prices from 2005. Guess they have increased from then to now. LOL :o

Perhaps values might have move up a bit since '05.
    Bid accordingly.

38 sounds like a lot of auctions to watch. I was watching a couple that went for way more than I was willing to pay.

I just put in what I thought they were worth, and let them end. Even thought $100 and up was not to much on some of them, but it was a way low.

Do GC prices make it into the PCGS Price Guide?

I've heard GC doesn't share some info with PCGS because they want people to visit the GC website, but does that include realized prices?

    I don't know. Good question.

I got shut out tonight too, and although there were a few interesting selections, there was nothing I had to have.
A few of my bids were more than I was comfortable with so I was mildly surprised that I didn't win anything.

An XF 1913 three and one half legged buffalo nickel slabbed by pcgs went for over $1400 with vigorous bidding.

I put in, what I thought, was high bids about 3 weeks ago. Didn't watch tonight, went to my gc later in th night and hadn't won any! LOL Nothing I had to have either, but I thought 38 bids? Lots of them had vigorous bidding. Great Collections people should be happy.

CG has around 60 OGH PCGS key / better date and all my PCGS Draped bust halves to auction in a couple of weeks. Good news for the sellers. Must be all that tax money.
