Nice struck through error on an ATB quarter. :)
I am unsure what the struck through is, but looks like grease.

I agree that it looks like a struck thru (I would guess something more substantial than grease) but in general, you should always post pics of both sides of the coin. That is usually necessary for confirmation.

I don't believe grease makes a deep, sharp mark as this. What do you think?

Looking again at the OP pictures, I agree to what you said. Very deep struck through. Likely not grease.

Here is an example of a nice struck through grease. They can sometimes make a depth hole. Here's an example.

I'd like to see the rev too. Strike thru something more solid than grease may have caused mirrored impression on rev. Inquiring minds want to know. Peace Roy

Unfortunately, your image is too out of focus to comment on. What TPGS determined it was grease?

Still does not look like grease to me. Lets see a sharp image to be sure.

I will be back on this later. I will also take some more pictures. Obverse and reverse as well.

Normal reverse supports the diagnosis of "struck thru". :)

I'm not being a smartalic, OK.
Could a forging problem of the planchet come into play?
    What?

    No.

The sharp details and "crater" edge mean it was a struck thru. If it was a planchet issue thee would be "damage" to the crater by the striking.
