Large Cent Collectors...I've asked this before.

Is there a list in some reference that makes the Head Types very clear? I don't want images. I want a list.

Head of 1793

S# XXX
S# XXX
S# etc

Head of 1794

S# XXX
S# etc

Head of 1795

S# etc

Unfortunately, every reference I have must believe the distinction between heads is very easy to make. IMO, it is not. It is far more easy to determine the S# using the references. Usually, the head type is not included.

Breen has such a list; however, he lists the coins by designer. A knowledgeable collector can use this to determine the "head type." I cannot at the moment. So, what is the head type for these coins?

Wright Heads (Heads of 1993).

First Scot Heads (Heads of ________).

Second Scot Heads (Heads of _______).

First Gardner Heads (Heads of _______).

Second Gardner Head (Head of 1795 - S#72 only).

Thanks. I'm sure others would like this answer.

My book makes it very clear...didn't I sell you a copy?

Big Moose is correct, though the NC-3 is also a head of 95 and every other NC is a 94.

What is the title of the book?

I have all the Noyes publications (home & office) and Breen's Encyclopedia of Early Large Cents (home).

I just bought a copy--it's worth having as a reference. Check the BST--he is selling them there.
