My collecting is not what it used to be, by far. Sold off my core collections when I retired and bought a house for cash. Always planned on using it in retirement and the opportunity was there. No regrets as now others are enjoying my beloved CC's.

55 years here. My late father gave me a Whitman Lincoln cent album in 1964. Looked a long time for that elusive 55 S to complete the set. I wonder how many others started with the same album ?
Since 1971, I was 10. I broke both of my legs the first time snow skiing and I was laid up for the better part of 2 months. A neighbor friend of my parents brought me an old cigar box full of wheat cents and some silver to look through. My interest in coins was sparked.
I first got interested in coins back around 1972 when I was about 8 yrs old, my grandmother got me into looking at wheatback cents at first and then I got into looking and collecting other coins. I then pretty much stopped looking at and collecting coins at around 12 yrs old when other interests became a lot more interesting, like sports, girls and cars. I then got back into buying and collecting coins around 1993 and then started to really buy, sell and heavily collect back around 1995-96 when eBay started up and have been into collecting and selling ever since, so a total of about 30 years.
Since the early eighties. I collected what I could out of circulation and my great aunt would give me coins for birthdays or holidays. Collected until around 19, found "other" interests and moved on. Ten years ago my daughter came across my collection and I have been back ever since.
1954 for a scout badge at first but it kind of got out of control after that. Found a 1916-s Buffalo last week in a cash drawer. Things like that keep you going.
