I have this token and have found very limited information in its regards. I know there are 2 types and the size is right. I wonder how common or when it was issued. Very limited information on this one. Its bound for ANACS soon.

Weighs about 6.3 grams and measures 31mm Brass.

Good post. That's 5 cents and has a very different typeface but still good to note.

Here's some info on the Fort Sill:

Fort Sill is a United States Army post north of Lawton, Oklahoma, about 85 miles southwest of Oklahoma City. It covers almost 94,000 acres (38,000 ha).[2]

The fort was first built during the Indian Wars.[3] It is designated as a National Historic Landmark[1] and serves as home of the United States Army Field Artillery School as well as the Marine Corps' site for Field Artillery MOS school, United States Army Air Defense Artillery School, the 31st Air Defense Artillery Brigade, and the 75th Field Artillery Brigade. Fort Sill is also one of the four locations for Army Basic Combat Training. It has played a significant role in every major American conflict since 1869.[4]

Actually, the size does not correspond to any of the listed 25c tokens -- there is one 30mm 25c uniface incuse piece listed but it does not include the I.T. in the inscription. The two listed 25c with I.T. are 23mm and 28mm respectively so it appears to be a variety not listed in the 24 year old Cunningham catalog of Military Tokens. This is not surprising as Fort Sill has quite a number of tokens and varieties and pieces not listed in the two volume catalog turn up very regularly -- it's possible that all the newly reported tokens over the past two decades could add a third volume to the set.

Nice info. Are there any plans for a Volume 3?

Not that I have heard -- there are too many additions for a simple supplement so to do it right the entire catalog would have to be re-done with the new listings integrated. I

It is perhaps not very common. The size is right as is the inscription. Not a lot of information out there.
