Rare Gold Piece Certified

We had quite the special coin come through recently. This countermarked Brazilian 6,400 Reis was certified by PCGS as AU53, crossed from a competitor’s slab in which it was graded "EF Details." It’s a rarity among the many countermarked gold coins of the Caribbean, one of only two such Curacao coins with all six counterstamps, and the only such single-island issue on a genuine host coin.

Nice!
Very cool. Would love to see more threads like this from PCGS. A '5 most interesting world submissions' thread each month would be fascinating.
Great suggestion!
Pity those poor royals. Smacked right in the face!
The lady on the coin is Queen Maria of Portugal.
The man is her husband Peter. Peter was also her uncle.

Anyone know anything about that small cross-shaped counterstamp that the article doesn't seem to mention?
