Old Gold.................with great luster and nice subtle toning........reflects well on the history of numismatics. Congratulations on a very exceptional coin from our past.
And I might add, this is a coin that was passed from a great collector to another great collector. TDN,, you are a collector's collector.
in the meanwhile Hansen added this quarter eagle to his set:
1900 Liberty Quarter Eagle MS67+ (Gold Shield) PCGS Coin #7852 / PCGS Serial #25382885 / POP 1/0
Absolutely beautiful coin. Might be the most beautiful of this type. Maybe the Simpson 1796 in 65 is equally nice only. I remember when the 1798 sold at Pogue . I just sat there speechless. Congrats to TDN on a great coin and seizing opportunity.

Is that a bad coin? Is it no longer good enough to add POP 1/0 Gold to your collection?
Walker Proof Digital Album Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
Would you please condense it in to a short paragraph when you have the time?
The 70-S was mentioned to Roger at a Long Beach show and he expressed serious interest in buying it. Arrangements were made to fly the coin overnight from Boston so he could see it the next day. He looked at it briefly, handed it back, and said "Too small". Those involved were not amused.

That coin was dark blue-black when discovered. I wonder what color it was when it was rejected at Long Beach. Wonder if he wishes he had bought it in spite of its size.

@Tomthecoinguy,
IMHO, at least one member did not take the comment as a joke:

As Roger Bryan said of the 1870-S Half Dime, “Too small”.
Does anyone besides @ColonelJessup remember that story?
