Retiring a Registry

Hi-
When a registry is retired, is it a manual thing by PCGS? A friend of mine just retired a set, and it went poof altogether. Is this a known bug?

Should ask the @SetRegistryManager.
Depends. If it is 90% complete, it will stay around.
Ah. that basically means No sets will stay around with chopmarked trade dollars since only David Reimer has the 78-cc and 75-p.
16/18 = 88%.
That is quite unfortunate.
(or to be technically accurate, only a single set will persist when retired.)

Can exceptions be made?
If you retire it, it's always hanging around somewhere. I came across one of mine the other day that I retired a long time ago. I don't know how I got to it and I can't find it again.
All I know is you can't delete a retired set which is what I'd love to do. Apparently that has to be done through PCGS. I don't know why.
Anyone know if a retired set be re-activated without anyone else's help? Then I'd be able to delete it..... If I can ever find it again.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
You'll get a lot of opinions here but if you contact customer service you'll get an actual answer.
I hope so!

Success might depend a bit on your persistence and demeanor.
Hello Everybody,
Although our Customer Service teams are awesome and they can answer a lot of questions and can help you with most PCGS-related questions, it's best to work with our Set Registry team regarding Set Registry related questions or issues. Our Set Registry team can be reached by emailing SetRegistry@Collectors.com or by giving us a call at 1-800-447-8848, make sure to choose the Set Registry option when prompted.
If a set is 90% complete or more when it is retired the set will remain in the All-Time Finest section but will not be listed in the current section. If a set is less than 90% complete at the time it is retired, it will no longer show online.
Although you cannot un-retire a set, our Set Registry team can. If you would like a retired set reactivated, send us an email with the request and we will reactivate the set. Please keep in mind that ANY AND ALL items listed in the retired set that are not currently registered to your active inventory will fall from the set. This will change the statistics of the set (completion, rating, GPA) and we will not be able to restore them.
Have a good weekend!
