I Just found this forum while I was looking for information on a $20 St Gauden's I bought with a "Lace" looking PCGS holder.
I guess its called a Doily holder. I looked thru the listing census and my coin is not on your list.

    1924 $20 MS63

    9177 63/6243201

Im not sure how to send a picture but I was able to verify the coin in the PCGS registry.
    Thanks For all the Info,
    Mike

My latest doily purchase not on the census. 1882 S 65 Morgan #8183041. This coin will join my 1878 S Morgan 65 doily.

There is a hairline crack on the outer holder which dies not take away from the doily beauty

This a a great thread and I read it for updates every day.

I don’t see it or one like it on the census but correct me if I’m wrong

I see it on eBay now, so I won't track it twice.

Could this be the only 21-D in existence or am I missing something?

Awesome. Thanks for your hard work. 30 years. Only 918 Doily holders accounted for. I wonder if we will ever get to 1,000

    918 . . . . . . only?

When I started this mess there were 118. I had 80 of them.

    No longer . . . . . .

I wonder if PCGS would ever disclose how many coins they slabbed with Doiley Labels in September-October 1989.`As you know, they consider these holders very scarce which is an indication that the population is not high, especially the ones without PCGS on the top of the label

Don't know if they know or even care. I once asked Willis about whether or not a certain coin SLQ IIRC was ever in a 2.5 holder. He didn't offer to have someone check and get back to me.

Perhaps some historical info on the Doily since the original Census would be in order. I will work on that and post in time just for the record.

I know this coin is not tracked, but it's worth mentioning on here. It's a 1961-D Roosevelt dime in a sample doily holder. The coin is a 1964!
