yeah, I was "watching" a few earlier lots, now enjoying what's for sale and waiting for others to come up.

well, most of the Elder Gold Basis and Taft/Wilson medals were either struck on a planchet alloy I didn't want or had some type of problem that deterred me from bidding, although I had placed a bid a few weeks ago on about four of them. the one I was most interested was bid past what I thought was reasonable. I'm OK with that but on the downside is the fact that those medals don't show up that often. for about six of them I had never seen them offered before.

I did manage to win a nice HK-17 Battle of Lexington and there's an item in Session 9/Internet next week that's really an item I'd like, so I chose to hold off and direct my attention to that. I think I have a good chance of winning it.

here's the Lexington. I owned a raw example about 15 years ago from the So-Called Dollar MiniHoard that I sold, this one is PCGS encapsulated with the TrueView and it's a much nicer medal for about the same price.

I was outbid (or as they put it "LOST") on both lots I tried.

Ha I got slaughtered and just walked away with winning just 1 token I needed.

Some HTT's seemed like Hanson was bidding as it was like getting beat with a mustard bottle.

    Ready for a nap!

Yeah that was a major consideration for backing off as a lot was bought by a couple dealers on the floor and will come up again soon all over the web.

@keets Good eye on snagging that Lexington instead of the other one. The previous lot was mine when I posted it a year ago (I sold it since then -- this wasn't my consignment). It was horrid -- terribly hairlined, totally unnatural surfaces and strange color. The color difference is pretty obvious in the two adjacent lots, but I suppose it's not clear why the colors are different.

Yes, I know what the slab says. I didn't think that was appropriate then, and I still don't.

Someone bought the holder. I wonder if the winning bidder saw it in hand first. The one you got for less money is clearly a better example.
