    I think you may want to change "rhode islam" to "Rhode Island" in your title. Agree that it's machine doubling and has no additional value.

    You are new to this. You can't tell DD from MD. Life is Short.

    Based on all of this, if it were me I would not be wasting my time scrutinizing dates/MMs that do not have known DDs with clear reference photos available.

    But that's just me. ;)

    Not time wasting for me nothing to do other then fishing hunting walking and coin searching not important wat I found is all fun for me al trying not to be too much of a pain I .

    I think this is actually "incused machine doubling", the same but different.

    What @kbbpll said. Incuse lettering MD can look a lot like a doubled die. There was a thread here a while back(2 years?) that had a really good example. If you didn't realize the letters were incuse you would swear it was a doubled die.
