Just something about a toned Carson City GSA...... I call this my OMG coin, because this is what I thought when I first laid eyes on it. Still feel that way to this day, many, many years later.

First of all, Happy Anniversary!!!!! Following is my 1936 Brilliant Buff graded PR67+ by PCGS w/CAC. Any marks you see in the photos (particularly on the reverse) are only a result of glare - this coin is pure problem free! (When I prepare to show this coin to people, I first make sure they're wearing sunglasses so they'll avoid getting blinded!) This coin was probably among the very first few struck from newly polished dies.
As noted above, any marks you see in this photo are not on the coin in hand, but only in the photo as a result of glare.
A day without fine wine and working on your coin collection is like a day without sunshine!!!
I'm confident that my new icon, which has 22 likes at this writing, will carry me to victory in this contest.
Having said that, being awarded a fourth star would be reward enough for me. Stars do not come easy for me but they mean so so much to me...

I believe this alteration to be period to the piece, perhaps during the civil war. I think it is impressive what David Hooton was able to do with such a small area to work with.

I could never post just one favorite, as each and every coin to me is very special. This one was a big gamble for me back in 2010. An old veteran collector had gotten into my head and talked me into purchasing original coins. I bought this one along with my fully original, pearl-centered and chestnut brown, 1918 S CAC. I purchased this particular one, as well, because I thought it had original surfaces, too. Well, I've gone back and forth on whether I like it or not but, to this day, I could not find a better one for the price and I really like the looks of the Trueview. So, in my set it remains amongst the others. It has a beautiful blue and violet color/tone, when tilted in the light at just the right angle.

My own birthyear set is just a tad older and contains silver. When i was being gifted a set back in the day it was an inexpensive set as well, but it is a special memento.
