For such an extended period.
I usually have the radio on a sports talk station and other than updated MLB scores, have heard nothing but basketball trade stories.
Has football been cancelled this year?

Well considering training camp hasn’t even started yet I’m going to say NO

They haven’t even reported yet. Trust me once they report to camp you will get more NFL talk than garbage NBA time

NBA= blockbuster trades this year.
Something like only 8 of all 28 last years All star game players stayed with their teams.
There is nothing happening in the NFL right now while the NBA has star players moving all over the place. Hard to keep an audience with headlines like Melvin Gordon threatens to sit out camp if not given a new deal. When October rolls around the NBA typically advertises premier games to be played on Tuesdays and Wednesdays to gain a higher rating rather than scheduling them head to head against an NFL game. So the NBA dominating the headlines is probably not as long lasting as they would like.
