Harvard sent three letters to my son asking him to apply. He wanted to major in geophysics and said he could not blow his nose with a degree from Harvard the career he wanted to pursue. He was correct as they don't stack up to other colleges in this field. he also is used to Texas girls, which are far prettier than what walks the campus at Harvard.

I am so glad we live in Texas.

I grew up just south of Boston but have lived in Texas for awhile now. Both great places.

Nothing against the girls in Texas, but pictured on Air Force One in conversation with the then President is my now daughter-law, a Yale grad who said yes to my Harvard educated son.

Yes he did I am sad to say...…..it was last week. Are you from the Springfield area? Do I know you? If you have told me before I am sorry...…..I am almost 72 and my memory is not what it use to be.

I have been around the CINA shows on many occasions (thus I was acquainted with Charlie). We do not know each other very well, but I could pick you out of a crowd.

Charlie was a little older than I was aware of. He collected Elephant stuff, including coins featuring them, of course.

@DIMEMAN As for those two coin shows, I do not know. I want to go to Rosemont too, and there is only a finite amount of funds available.

When I see you, I will say something, but I do not know about Springfield or St. Charles MO in July (actually the present month now).

NBC offered Jerry 5 million per episode to make one last season but, after mulling it over, he declined.

He is quoted as saying that as a comedian he felt like he had to be in touch with the world. The last few seasons he was too busy to keep up with the world outside of the show, apparently. He said the moment he knew he should no longer do the show was: ( I am telling this from memory, hopefully accurate)). He walked into a store and saw a bunch of calling cards hanging up for sale (not the one you would send in lieu of a visit, but the ones used to make phone calls). He had no idea what they were. He had to ask someone.

That's when he knew.

Brilliant tv show...I learned how to roll a cross-joint while watching part 2 of ‘The Trip’ from season 4...I don’t remember the following couple of episodes off hand, but only because I lit the thing at the very end of it
