Awesome George II NEWP - 1750’s Lemon Strainer

This is a first for me. I found this last week in an antique mall and was intrigued. I did some research and decided to go back a week later and see if it was still available.

It was and the dealer reduced the price from $198 to $125.

So I got this, my first Lemon Strainer:
Made by John Alderhead, London, 1751

The work on this is top notch. All hand made, the piercing work is impressive and the piece is completely original with no damage or repairs. A happy addition to the collection!

    However, I think it's a $300-500 piece possibly. The right place at the right time.
    So $125 plus tax was still a bargain in my opinion...

    Molly on the purple cushion with a Georgian lemon strainer looks quite regal.

    Y'all had better drop a coin* in that, and bow while you're doing it!

    *coins may be substituted with anchovies.

    That is a unique acquisition... I have not seen one of those before.... I use a modern electro-mechanical de-juicer for my lemon juice....Much faster and likely more efficient... but would still pick up one of those if I came across one at the local antique shops... Cheers, RickO

    @ricko I don't recall having seen one either before this, hence my initial decision to pass on it. After researching them, I was intrigued and had to go back... I'm glad it was still there! :)
