Massive acquisition indeed. An amazing example that stops you dead in your tracks, and went to the right collector. Congratulations Matt.

Edited to add: At a time now in the hobby when it must be really hard to decide whether to post a purchase of this magnitude on a message board, I really appreciate Matt for sharing this card with all of us.

Outstanding, congratulations on picking up such a nice example.

Mike, Call me when you get a minute, I would love to hook up and want to pass along a business prospect for your team to call on. Thank-you!

Thank you Nik, I thought about it a lot to be honest, but at the end of the day I know Joe Orlando and despite letting my emotions get the best of me and ruining that relationship with him, he’s a good guy and I 1000% believe in PSA and him personally. He is passionate about this hobby, just like we all are, and I trust that under his guidance PSA will only get better from this in the long run.

I’ve learned a lot of really hard lessons over the last 5 years, Geesh.... but most of all I have learned not to allow your raw emotions to get the best of you and to jump To conclusions and frankly appreciate the approach PSA is taking. I appreciate your commenting Nik.

If I sold my entire collection I’d get that Mantle slab minus the card.

Tremendous centering! Eye appeal gets a 10.

    Congrats!

Thanks Paul, There won’t be topping this at the National. I’m not sure I will be topping this ever.

This one is being kept at the safety deposit box at the bank. I’m building a special case for it that I will share when completed to rest in inside the safety deposit box. I’m weird like that.

I’ve got the full provenance on the card, which is pretty cool.

Matt will become very well known at his bank when he goes to visit his card every week. Kind of like the seniors who go by every week to check and make sure their jewels and bonds are still safely inside their safe deposit box 😄

Very glad to hear it. That's an extremely special card -- congrats on being able to land it. I can imagine the soul searching that took place; it's a very short list of people who would be able to swing that and have it be a "casual purchase." Big congrats!!!

I will only be doing with the encouragement of Mary who might want to take a road trip up the east coast - we'd like to visit Charleston, Savannah e.g.
