Why would my proof 1959 50c be bid up to$98?

    I think it’s a simple as it’s in a rattler holder. It’s a niche market. No one is thinking it’s a 68+ IMHO. I think most of you are over thinking this.

    Coins sell for well over book as well under book. Some are plain outliers. There doesn’t have to be anything nefarious involved to get this result.
