1918 NGC MS66FH CAC: Amazing virgin original tough P mint Standing Liberty Quarter

1918 NGC MS66FH Fatty Holder 25c

A lovely, high end, original, lightly toned example of this difficult P mint quarter. Housed in an old embossed NGC Fat slab holder.
The toning is light mauve and golden under amazing luster. The strike is hammered with a full head and shield rivets.

In a 67 holder this coin goes up 2-3 times. And another 3 times in 68. If you are an advanced standing liberty quarter collector who is looking for the cream of the issue without paying uber prices, this is a coin that should be strongly considered.

Last two 66+FH coins to sell in auction went for $4800 and $8225 in 2018 and 2017 respectively.

Offered at $5400, firm.

    Nice coin.

I would be so tempted to dip it but I know I wouldn't be able to pull the trigger.

I only say this because I know the TPGs would probably bump the grade up if the coin was blast white and still frosty.

And then it would be like so many other blast white coins. Give me this all day everyday. :)

Comment is not appropriate in this bst. Coin looks lovely as is to some of us. That type of toning is gorgeous. Very light tone and most likely very flashy. That’s what I think.

Sorry, I didn't mean anything negative towards the coin and/or the current grade.

I actually do prefer the toning.

I mentioned the thought of dipping only because I believe it may get a higher grade if it was frosty white.

Are you suggesting that you think the coin is 66+ quality by using 66+ price comparison?

I think the coin is a 66 A coin, so yes, I am suggesting it is a plus. To john Albanese, the coin is either a 66B or 66A. The only other opinion that matters is yours. :) .

I'd buy this coin back for $4800 barring economic collapse, serious illness or nuclear war. :)
