Jules Reiver- if you own one of his coins post it here

Jules Reiver was a WW II war hero who passed away in 2004. He had an amazing coin collection, focusing mainly on die varieties and die states of all U.S. silver and copper coinage from 1793 through 1839. Much of his collection was sold at the Heritage auctions in Jan 2006.
From what I understand from some of my reading, Reiver was a pretty cool guy, who would chat about coins and impart his knowledge to pretty much anyone, whether he knew them or not. If you have any stories about personal encounters with him, I'd love to read them!
I picked up 2 of these coins (later, from ebay, not during the Heritage auction), just because I wanted to have a piece of that collection, not particularly because I collected copper. Actually, I didn't care much about copper (sorry). I mostly collected silver (I like shiny things!) But, after seeing these chocolate beauties on ebay and in hand, I kinda changed my mind about BN copper, and found a new appreciation!

I did pick up one from the Heritage auction. Not a great photo....and probably not a great coin. But I like it.
Jules was instrumental in changing my collecting life.
I was at a show and attended the Bust Half Nut Club meeting hoping to become a member. After learning I was a dealer also I was denied a chance to join (at that time) and I left the meeting. I was moving down the hallway at a pretty god pace when an older man was hustling to catch up. It was Jules. I did not yet know his reputation and standing in the community and he told me about a new organization of collectors just forming called The John Reich Collectors Society! I joined as a charter member and eventually became the newsletter editor, later president and recently was inducted into their HOF! All because Jules took an interest in a young collector and chased me through the hallway introducing me to a whole new realm of numismatics.
We had many enjoyable interactions through the years and I was able to visit him at his home to do research for the quarter book I co-authored.
One other interesting item. He asked me if I accepted want lists and I naturally said yes. He provided me his complete want list of Federal US coins by die marriages. It for on ONE side of an old 3X5 index card!
I attended the sale of his collection in Dallas and purchased a number of coins for my collection. It was a unique opportunity to see the collection together at one time and make notes. The annotated catalog holds a special place in my library.
They just don’t make ‘em like Jules anymore.
A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.
A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.

I never met him, but did have several of his coins in my Seated Dime collection, which I sold in the fall of 2016. I think some of my Bust Dimes came from his collection, but I am not sure since his coins were in NGC holders, which are now in PCGS holders.

Not a coincidence - I copied/pasted the title. I did read that thread, but wanted to see if anyone had more to share, since I wasn't around here back in 2008. Yeah, I wish the pics still worked. You can actually go to the Heritage site and see all the pics of the Reiver coins that were sold. Amazing collection!!!!

Actually, I only have one (two photos of the same coin), and I was about to share it, but you just did.
(I'm ORIFDOC, BTW). I got this from @AnkurJ back when he was still active here.
It's a pretty nice coin and used to be in an NGC AU58 holder.
