Do SGC Cards ever crossover higher to PSA

Has anyone sent in a SGC card for crossover and have it come back higher from PSA?

    Yes. I sent a Bird/Magic RC SGC 92 8.5, put 8.5 as minimum grade, came back a 9.

    I haven’t had one come in higher (cracked probably 50 cards). Most were the same, 65%, about 25% lower by a bit, and 10% didn’t meet the minimum size requirement. ALWAYS measure the card dimensions in the SGC case prior to cracking open. Learned my lesson the hard way.

    I have had a couple of Beckett's come back higher. 1978 Eddie Murray BVG 8.5 to a PSA 9, 1979 Tony Dorset BVG 9 to a PSA 10. 1964 Pete Rose bvg 6.5 to a psa 7.

    Not an SGC that I remember. But I did have a 65 Topps Koufax go from a GAI 7.5 to a PSA 8. I would think if GAI could bump them an SGC should as well.

    Yes i recently cracked open 15 SGC cards then off they went to PSA all but four came back with higher grades but PSA labelled some cards with qualifiers, there are no qualifiers in SGC, even with the qualifiers from PSA they outdid the SGC cards,some came back the same.

    Folks.....not crack and submit. I think his question is CROSSOVERS in the holder. Raw cards are RAW cards. I've done about 30 and none came back higher.

    PSA qualifiers drops down a grade by two,but a few cards even with the qualifiers came back higher than the SGC ones.

    Only if you crack, never on a crossover.

    Every time I see someone crack a case it just sends shivers up my spine. It just scares the heck out of me.

    To the OP: Yes, but it was a two-step process that included first an even crossover and then a review bump.

    Just on the crack. If I were seriously looking for a higher grade I wouldn't even bother sending it in on a crossover so I suppose I'd never even know if it's possible. Kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy.

    How about a BGS 9.5 to PSA 10 on crossover? I may have one or two of the BGS coming soon. I planned to crack and sub.

    That's good to know! Over the years I have bought quite a few SGC 92 cards that I thought looked as good as PSA 9's (different players). Also a couple of BGS/BVG 8.5's that I thought were exceptional for the grade. I just never had the guts to try and crack open the case (I always fear I will somehow ruin the card).

    Crossover, in the case, last one I recall had 3 9.5 subs and a 10. I'm usually a crack and resub guy, but there have been a couple of either high enough dollar value or such a condition sensitive issue, it wasn't worth the possibility of causing damage during the crack. Sadly, I've ruined one card during a crack, so it's always in the back of my mind now.

    I have two experiences with cracking out cards from SGC one good one bad. The first was an SGC 8.5 Topps 1974 Bill Walton, the card came back a PSA 8 and the other was an SCG 8 1966 Topps Willie Stargell came back a 9.

    I've had very good luck with BCCG 10's as well crossing over to PSA 10's. My biggest one was a 2010 AFLAC Bryce Harper.

    Cracking and submitting is the optimal process. Thankfully SGC holders are quite easy to open. Just be prepared to get stuck with the card if it is minsize.
