How do you determine if the 1878 CC is a Vam 11 ( lines in wing) please describe.

No it is not "lines in wing" VAM. Go to VAMworld.com and see what you really do have.

Hint: look at the 4th star right of the date.

Try to match the star as mentioned, also look at the mint mark & arrow nock.

Here is the one in my collection that Todd photographed and did a great job on the close-up of the die gouge lines in the wings.
VAM 11 Top 100
Nothing right off from the photos. It looks like a short nock. Anything that helps narrow it down....date, mint mark placement, hub designs etc. There are a couple of listing with some sort of lines. Just wanted to mention other features to help get an exact match & narrow it down a bit.
