    There were some created during WWII by the Germans and spread in Jugoslavija which accounts for the languages on them - basically they were propaganda notes - but I'd be concerned that this is a modern forgery of a WWII era propaganda forgery.

    German advertising/propaganda note done in imitation of a 1928 US $10 Gold Certificate. Actually much more interesting than the note that it imitates.

    Can anyone translate the back? Looks like German and Yugoslavian?

    Collector and dealer in obsolete currency. Always buying all obsolete bank notes and scrip.

    Genuine pieces are scarce. Copies are abundant but most of the copies are smaller than the genuine piece, usually lack the position letter on the left and the text over the seal is not justified. This one looks genuine but would have to have it in hand to say for certain.

    OK, I'm the guy who did the "Buy it now." I was worried about the note's size, but wanted to be sure I got it, so I took a chance and pulled the trigger. It is the right size, larger than a US small- sized gold $10 and a touch smaller than a large sized US gold $10. (see pix below). Looks like the real thing to me compared to notes like this I've been able to find. Better pix below than off eBay. The rip and the center top has a tag that closes easily in the holder.

    If you have seen an original it is easy to spot the modern copies. First is the size, the modern copies are the same size as a small size note. The copies to not have the left position letter A and the text under the seal is not justified.

    True, the serial numbers are even counter shifted
